Microsofts Windows Phone was just one percent of the total, which is unchanged from the prior 15 months. Note that Good cant track BlackBerry activations because those take place on BlackBerry servers; therefore, that segment is not included in the study. Smartphones are still the dominant mobile device, according to Good. About Android Sentral three times as many iPhones are activated as iPads, for example. And the split on the Android side is even greater around 10 to 1 in favor of phones over tablets. When it comes to tablets overall, its still an iPad world in the land of business: Goods data shows that of all enterprises using tablets, 90 percent of those are iPads.

AnandTech | HTC Launches Zoe Beta: Hands On and First Impressions
The first app to be released will be Zoe, a spin-off of the identically named photography app which made its debut on the original HTC One. For those who havent already used the Zoe app, its a fun tool which stitches together stills and video shot with your phone, into a single highlight video, lasting a maximum of 30 seconds. Each video can be given a theme and its own soundtrack, plus once its uploaded, other users can take it and remix it themselves. This turns the Zoe network into a Vine-style site for viewing user-created video content, and HTC hopes to entice new users by signing deals with major brands, which will use the platform to host exclusive content. Its not only Vine with which HTC will have to contend, but Instagram and the various other photo and video sharing sites, such as Snapchat, out there too. The newly released Zoe app will be compatible Android smartphones which run Android 4.4, which may sound like it limits the audience rather drastically, but according to Googles own figures, the most recent version of the OS is used on just over 20 percent of Android smartphones. Yes, support for Jelly Bean would help, but its not a disaster.

Rivers Casino Launches JOINGO-Powered Mobile App - Yahoo Finance
HTC has done a surprisingly good job of bringing the Sense 6 UX to devices like the Galaxy S5, although some aspects like the status bar don't carry over perfectly. HTC has done a good job of providing a small taste of the well-designed HTC Sense 6 UI without removing major selling points from HTC devices. HTC emphasized that the major goal for this application was to become widely adopted, as while these features were good selling points for HTC hardware there was no real way to add a social network on top without making these features available to non-HTC devices. In discussions with HTC, it seems clear that they are prioritizing user experience first over a monetization strategy. This is made clearer by the fact that there aren't any in-app purchases at this point in time.
